The A2 level builds upon the basics introduced at A1. It is intended for learners who can already handle simple French but wish to expand their ability to interact in daily life. The focus is on practical communication, allowing learners to manage short exchanges, talk about familiar topics, and understand simple written and spoken texts.
At this stage, you will revise the present tense and begin learning the passé composé (past tense), the simple future, and how to make comparisons. Your vocabulary will expand to cover topics like travel, shopping, food, weather, health, and daily routines. In reading, you will practice understanding short narratives, advertisements, and letters. For writing, you will learn to create notes, postcards, short descriptive texts, and informal emails. Listening activities will include following instructions, understanding short dialogues, and public announcements. In speaking, you will practice short interactions, describing your habits, and making polite requests.
Learners at A2 will be able to communicate in routine, everyday situations, talk about their environment, and express immediate needs clearly.
